JOSE ANTONIO HIGUERA

He began his music studies in Caracas and completed them in Spain in the Singing School of Madrid. His debut was with the opera La Boheme in the Teresa Carreño Theatre in Caracas with the conductor Gustavo Dudamen and La Traviata with Angelo Pagliuca. He has sung numerous zarzuelas and operas in important theatres both in Venezuela and Spain.

 

ANA Mª FERNANDEZ

She was born in Madrid where she started her music studies at an early age at the Madrid Singing School. She was trained by excellent musicians such as Ramon Regidor, Jose Luis Montoliu and Miguel Zanetti. She has sung in different theatres in Spain, Teatro Real, Teatro de la Zarzuela, Teatro Campoamor in Oviedo and Teatro Maestranza in Seville.

 

MARÍA FIDALGO

She was born in northern Spain, in Asturias. She started her music studies in 2005. Since then, she has collaborated with different opera and zarzuela theatres. At present, she performs solo concerts and works with various artists.

 

CHANTAL GARCIA

She began her music studies in the Music Academy of Madrid. Her debut was with the role of Violetta in La Traviata. At present, she performs and collaborates with different opera and zarzuela artists all over Spain.

 

ABEL ITURRIAGA

He graduated in piano studies, musical language, accompaniment and Musicology in the Music Academy of Madrid. He continued his music studies in the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Utrecht, The Netherlands. He won the music prize Jacinto e Inocencio Guerrero in 2003 and the first prize in the Fermin Gurbindo music competition in 1999. He also studied with important pianist such as Alicia Larrocha, Josep Colom, Enrico Pace and Katia and Marielle Labeque. He attended master lessons with Miguel Zanetti and Wolfran Rieger as an accompanying pianist. At present, he combines music performances with teaching.

 

ANNA MOROZ

She was born in the Ukraine. She graduated as an orchestra and choir conductor in the Music Academy of Krivoy Rog in the Ukraine. She graduated as a singer in the State Music Academy of Odessa. In 2005 she won the prize of the International Music Festival Johann Sebastian Bach and Georg Friedrich Handel in Odessa and the international music competition Antonin Dvorak in Karlovy Vary in the Czech Republic. She has sung in important theatres all over Europe such as the Madrid National Auditorium, Teatro Real, Bilbao Arriaga Theatre and the Opera House of Riga.

 

IGNACIO PILONE

He trained as a pianist in Montevideo and later he studied orchestral conducting in Bucharest and Vienna. In Spain he worked as a pianist and conductor in various opera and zarzuela performances. His debut as orchestra conductor took place in Romania in 1998. He has recently been invited to the Vienna Opera House to attend the new performance of Parsifal by Wagner.

 

GLORIA LONDOÑO

She started her music studies in the Music Academy of Medellin, Colombia. She also studied singing in Germany and in the United States. She was finalist in the singing competition of Luciano Pavarotti in Italy. She has performed as opera and zarzuela soloist in Spain, Japan, Colombia, Argentina, Chile and the United States. She continues at present her studies in the Reina Sofia School of Music and collaborates with the Spain National Choir.

 

HAROLD TORRES

He graduated by the Singing School of Madrid in 2005. His debut took place in the Campoamor Theatre with the opera Dolores. He has worked in many theatres such as the Teatro Buero Vallejo, Teatro Romea, Teatro Guimerà, Teatro Cervantes, Teatro Pérez Galdos, Teatro Baluarte, Teatro Real, etc. His repertoire covers different styles: belcanto, verism, Mozart, Rossini and Latin-American music.

 

ANNA TONNA

Her debut was at the Lincoln Center of New Your with the opera Guglielmo Ratcliff by Mascagni in 2004. She has sung the roles of Rosina in Il Barbiere di Seviglia with the Illinois Opera, Romeo in Capuletti e Montecchi with the State Orchestra of Bacau (Romania), Angelina in La Cenerentola with the Taconic Opera, Maria in Maria of Buenos Aires by Piazzola with the Connecticut Grand Opera, Loca in Cavalleria Rusticana, Dorothea in Stiffelio by Verdi, Cherubino in La Nozze di Figaro and Musetta in La Boheme with the New York Grand Opera.

 

EDUARDO ERNAND

He began his studies at a very early age and graduated by the Arts Institute. He is a piano soloist and has collaborated with different opera and zarzuela performances and musicals such as The Man of La Mancha. At present, he combines his performances as a pianist with teaching the piano.

 

EDUVIGIS SANCHEZ

She was born in Gran Canaria, where she started her music studies. She studied vocal techniques and interpreting with Diana Somkhieva. Her opera debut took place in Verona with the role of Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro in March 2007. She has appeared in other operas such as in La Hija del Cielo (the daughter of the sky) by Juan Jose Falcon Sanabria.

 

ITXASO MORIONES

She was born in Pamplona. She graduated as a biologist by the University of Navarra. She won the second prize of the Monserrat Caballe’s scholarships. At present she studies her third year in the Singing School of Madrid with Pilar Perez Iñigo and the pianist Julio Alexis Muñoz.

 

JORGE PÁEZ

He studied music and singing in Spain and in the United States. He has taken the main roles in operas such as La Traviata, Madame Butterfly, Caballeria Rusticana and La Boheme among others. He has also been the lead singer in many zarzuelas.

 

LUIS ENRIQUE JIMENO

He was born in Madrid. He studied singing with Julio Catania and Maria Dolores Travesedo. He has undertaken the main roles in operas and zarzuelas such as Don Pasquale, Il Barbieri di Seviglia, Luisa Fernanda and Los Gavilanes. He combines his work as a soloist singer and conductor with teaching music.

 

M. ANGEL ARQUED

He started his music studies when he was nine years old. He graduated in choir management, piano and musical Pedagogy. He has performed numerous concerts in different cultural centres in Spain and Germany. He has worked for the Spanish television and the Spanish authors society. At present he is a music chamber teacher in Madrid.

 

MANUEL GANCHEGUI

He started in opera as a singer with Jose Tamayo and performed in his tours in forty different countries. His work with the zarzuela has been very intense and he has been involved in many performances of this genre. He was also in charge of the music production of La Maja de Goya in the New Apolo Theatre in Madrid. He directed from 1997 to 2002 the artistic company the Zarzuela Anthology. Since its opening, he has been responsible for the music performances in the show “A Sung Dinner” at his restaurant. He also is involved in music performances not only in Spain but in countries of Europe, America and Asia.
